Wood Floor Re-leveling
Wood floors frequently become unlevel because one or more elements of the framing supporting the floor are deficient. Inadequate column foundations may settle, allowing a large area of the beams, joists and flooring above to settle as well. Also, deficiencies in the main subfloor support beams or the floor joists may cause localized unlevel conditions. A thorough inspection by a qualified engineer should identify which elements are deficient and the relative significance of the deficiency.
Reinforcement or replacement of the deficient elements, concurrent with the re-leveling of the floor system, is normally required. Because each system is unique, it is not possible to make useful generalizations about the methods of remediation.
